Pull up a comfy chair and grab a cupcake.
Growing up, I aspired to be a ninja-Jedi princess, but since I can’t run a four- (or ten-) minute mile, I write action-packed speculative fiction including swoony romantasy, space opera, cozy fantasy, and thrillers (and a bit more in between). Expect kissing, magic, and a whole lot of kicking.
I’ve been honored to be the recipient of several writing awards, including first place in the Red Herring Society’s Storyteller’s Writing Contest, Georgia Romance Writers’ Maggie Contest, Toronto Romance Writers’ Catherine contest, and the Windy City RWA’s Four Seasons Writing Contest.
Join me for an adventure. And chocolate. Don’t forget the chocolate.

The Midnight Banishment
Now available in CREATURES, CROWNS, & CURSES.
What if the wrong wish cost you everything?
Hilarity and duty collide in this cozy fantasy reminiscent of The Frog Prince and The Little Mermaid told in the vein of Hannah Sandvig’s faerie tale romances.
Second-class fairy Scorpia is desperate to escape her life as a palace servant, but when a heartfelt wish goes sideways, she’s banished to the realms under the sea. Sure, sure, the whole “true love’s kiss” cure could save her, but where is she going to find a prince, especially as a fire-breathing sea dragon with hiccups?
When she encounters a banished merman, she must choose between what she wants most and fighting someone else’s battle. No matter what she chooses, someone will lose everything.

The Midnight Disappointment
Two potions, a botched delivery, and a mess of spells to reverse before midnight. No problem…?
a novella
THE MIDNIGHT CHRONICLES continues in The Midnight Disappointment as Poppy and her ex, Detective Tiger Sagelake, must reverse a magical mess before midnight in this addictive cozy fantasy romance with fairy tale vibes and a mystery twist. For fans of Hanna Sandvig and Diana Wynne Jones.
When I took the job at Penelope’s Potion Emporium, I envisioned mixing adorable love potion packs and selling Instant Makeover fairy dust. So far, all I do is fetch coffee and work overtime doing my boss’s paperwork. But as she always reminds me, it’s not like I have a life.
Tonight is supposed to be my chance to do more than work. I have the dress, the perfect glass slippers, and an invite to handsome (and single!) Brock Marzipan’s Valentine Ball. Finally, I’ll get to dance the night away and perhaps secure a business deal to fix my totally broke status. But my boss has other plans. Still, I can make her deliveries and get to the party, right? Except I might have mixed up a few orders. And that’s just the beginning.
Once my ex, Detective Tiger Sagelake, gets involved, the glitter hits the fan. I’ll have to help him ferret out an evil scheme and reverse rogue spells before the clock chimes midnight or else I’ll be spending ten-to-twenty Valentines in jail.
The Midnight Requirement
in … Meet Me at Midnight anthology
A fairy godmother gone rogue.
A wish gone awry.
And if the magic isn’t reversed by midnight, everything’s going to come up pumpkins.
A rogue fairy godmother wreaks havoc when she grants a wish and “forgets” to turn the magic off at midnight. It’s up to fairy godmother assistant Mari and her annoying and definitely-not-cute coworker Hunter to save the night. If they miss the midnight requirement, who knows what mischief the magic will cause?
Will Mari and her not-at-all cute coworker Hunter meet the midnight requirement and save Hidden Wood from impending disaster?
A cozy fantasy in the vein of Once Upon a Time meets The Hating Game.
Available now in Meet Me at Midnight!
One Night at Hilltop Manor
Be our guest. Forever.
a novella
There’s only one way out … or is there? A weekend getaway turns nightmarish in this addictive YA mystery thriller novella for fans of Christopher Pike.
Sisters Ashleigh and Kari’s idyllic beach weekend takes an unexpected turn when a violent storm forces them to take refuge in a desolate hilltop mansion. At first, all seems perfect—too perfect. The proprietors are charming, the food delicious, and the mansion’s whimsical pink fashion-doll theme is something out of a fairytale.
But their sense of security soon unravels. It seems danger lurks around every corner. What possessed another guest to throw herself down the stairs? And those whispered cries for help … are they coming from inside the walls?
When Kari vanishes without a trace, Ashleigh realizes things are far more sinister than she imagined. Will Ashleigh conquer the dark forces at play and save her sister, or will their one night at Hilltop Manor turn into eternity?
A haunting and electrifying debut from author Jennifer Dyer, “One Night at Hilltop Manor” is a Twilight Zone-esque story that will keep readers enthralled until the last chilling page. For fans of Lindsay Currie and R.L. Stein.
