Gold and brown toned Book cover with a key image for the book The Eternity Gate by Katherin Briggs

Hi y’all!

I recently read THE ETERNITY GATE by Katherine Briggs and if y’all love action-packed fantasy with a biblical world view, I can’t wait for y’all to read this one! If you like Nadine Brandes, CJ Redwine, Mary Weber, CJ Milacci, Candace Kade, or Frank Peretti, then check this one out!

Here’s the back cover copy:

Destroy the key. Save her people and herself.

The Eternity Gate is found, and kings and monsters battle over its legends of treasure. But rumors whisper that someone stole the gate’s ancient key.

Seyo, handmaiden to the princess, keeps three secrets. First, she’s gifted in fire, not light, and may as well be cursed. Second, she translates a prophecy warning that the gate does not offer treasure but judgment. Third, Jorai, the scorned prince and Seyo’s confidant, entrusts her with the key and disappears.

Surrounded by war, Seyo and her companions embark on a journey to seek help from a faraway empire and find Jorai, unaware of the trap awaiting them. But what should Seyo do with the key? Who can survive judgment, especially someone as flawed as her? Will hiding the key—or destroying it—save her people or ensure their defeat?wanted to share my thoughts.

My thoughts:

Haunting, suspenseful, and full of intrigue, this highly imaginative fantasy will keep you turning pages and stay with you long after you read the last page.

I really enjoyed the atmospheric setting in this suspenseful fantasy. With echoes of a Biblical-scale clash of servants of light battling the corrupted servants of evil, the story was thought provoking as well as entertaining. Some of the haunting scenes reminded me that evil and hardships come to us all, and we have to choose how we will respond. There were times my heart broke and times I cheered.

As far as characters go, my favorite was Geras, and I hope to see more of him and his story in book two!
